hi all,
i recently got my hands on my first ever Dnepr, and am pretty excited about it. so excited, in fact, that i wanna change all the gaskets. problem is, i wanna be sure i get the right gaskets, but i don't know how to tell if it's really a 1968 model, or something else.
are there any obvious signs i can go off of? it's really been difficult to find specific info on the net, so i turn you your collective sum of Dnepr knowledge!
вам огромное спасибо!

a little more info...
the title calls it a 1968, but i'm sniffing around and it looks like it may not be. did the 1968 MT-9's have two-wheel drive?

Nope. Only MT-12's, MB-750's (both flatheads), MB-650's, and MT-16's were 2WD.

The 12v engine with electric start suggests it's new. I think the valve covers with 2 ridges (like yours) were used on the last Dneprs as well.
Definitely not 1968. Probably early- to mid-1990's. But stick to 1968 on the paperwork. It'll save you grief at the DMV.

The two wheel drive suggests that itīs a MT16, considering that itīs looks new and "modern". The toaster tank and the headlightīnīspeedo setup points in that direction too. I forget if those valve covers points towards MT11 or MT16.
I agree with gspell68, itīs definitly not a 1968, much later model.

hey thanks all, i guess i'll be changing my signature to "DATE UNK Dnepr MT-16." and that's what i'll order gaskets for.
thanks again!
