Hi.

Been lurking around here far a week or two now, so i guess its time to introduce myself. Im in the beginning of getting my old neglected Dnepr K750m running. But since i live in northern sweden and have no warm place to keep it, things are going slow right now. Hopefully i will get a garage next month.

I will probaly have hundreds of more questions but the first one is, how do i know if i have negative or positive earth? Generator is G-414, regulator PP-302, Coil B-2B and PM-05 distributor.

And if anyone feels like showing off, a detailed description of how the PP-302 works would really make my day (or even week).

All Russian Iron is negative earth (ground) except for some of the very old M-72's.

I have a K750 (Maybe an M, but definitely a mish-mash of parts) Dnepr and it is a positive ground. I'm not an expert, but based on how the ignition coil and regulator are hooked up, you could tell the grounding situation. I'm assuming you don't have a battery in it?

Best I can tell, the biggest problem with old russian iron is that each one can be completely different.

Well, I'll rephrase my statement:
"All Russian Iron left the factories as negative earth (ground) except for some of the very old M-72's."

Can't control what some knucklehead did once the warranty ran out! biggrin.gif

Problem is they are not hooked up closedeyes.gif and the battery seems to have been ripped of the bike in an angry moment. However, im gonna follow the wiring diagrams found on the site and rewire the whole thing.
Serious Black
I hope you mean this one.

I think rewiring the whole thing is the best thing you can do. As said above, the warranty is well expired- do what you want!
