Full Version: Ural article in March "Motorcyclist"
Russian Iron Board > Russian Iron Motorcycle Club > Russian Motorcycle World
Baxter's driver
Jack Lewis has an article about riding a '99 Patrol from Seattle to a long-distance rifle shooting competition near Moscow, ID. Fun read as he really captures what makes a Ural such a fine touring machine, espcially for subfreezing, nighttime entry into Idaho.

This one and an article in "Cycle World" a few years back by Peter Egan about retracing a ride Charles Lindburgh took from his boyhood home in Minnesota to the Univs. of Wisconsin are required reading for Foilheads. biggrin.gif

I really like Jack's writing style and his articles in motorcyclist. His stuff is always a bit reminicent of Hunter Thompson's gonzo style journalism. His love for bikes and an off-center sense of life makes me feel that he's a kindred spirit of mine. It would be only natural that he's getting more into side cars ! Well that and the fact he lives in Washington State and has his magazine / journalism connection to the Ural Importer there.

For you Dnepr guys there is an article in this months issue of American Motorcyclist , the monthly AMA mag featuring the actor Perry King. On the cover shot he is sitting on his 65 Triumph Desert Sled but in the article there are two prominently situated pictures of his olive drab Dnepr, one of which is him doing a nice three wheel drift on it. He's a life time rider and not the Hollywood fashion accessory rider. There is mention of the Dnepr in the text as well. It makes me wonder what user name he goes by if he visits the Russian sidecar web sites ?
