Hey All!

My first post here. I am also on ADVRider.com and Soviet Steeds, as well as Speedzilla.com and Ducati.ms, all as "spezjag" (a joke from when I was stationed in Germany in the 80s, and everyone was talking about the Speznaz, the Soviet special forces, and how they were going to operate deep behind out lines. I joked that we should drop Army JAG lawyers behind their lines, as nothing would disrupt them as much as lawyers. The name stuck!).

I am about to pick up a rare factory-painted 2009 red Ural Gear-Up from Tri-Quest in Santa Clara, CA. Here are some pics from their web-site (mine will not have a wind screen):

If anyone is interested in this as an alternative to a Red October, Ski at Tri-Quest said he has at least one more in stock (in addition to a NATO green camo one). Tri-Quest is in the process of setting mine up, so I should have it in the beginning of January. I also ordered some tonneaus and tire covers from Rich Maund, a member here.

Anyway, I am looking forward to the adventures!

Thanks, guys!

I have ordered some tonneaus and tire covers from Rich Maund, and am having Tri-Quest do some special set-up work on it so I think you will be pretty pleased with the result. That, plus some farkles (which are probably mandatory to make it "my own"), will hopefully make fo ra photogenic outfit. I am really looking forward to racking up some kms on this beast!

Nice lookin' rig...the Red just POPS!...as for "farkles", perhaps lettering on the hack for the "Moscow Fire Brigade" thumbsup!.gif

Does this mean the factory does custom paint jobs? I really liked the two-color paint jobs of the recently-discontinued Tourist LX. The maroon and black combination looked especially nice, IMO.

I suspect that this is either something that Tri-Quest worked out in advance, or (more likely) these came through the system as some sort of mistake, and Tri_Quest was able to grab them.

Don't quote me on that, though!

Welcome on board! Rig looks a bit clean...

I have a soft spot for red bikes, though.

You can special order any model in any color that Ural does.

"You can special order any model in any color that Ural does."

Outstanding! Any idea how long that might take?

How about a 1-wheel drive in camo? rolleyes.gif (I have no need for 2-wheel drive in the deep South)

That would be best answered by a dealer.
