I am planning a trip from Denver to Sun City, AZ near the end of the year....maybe....depends on weather mostly.
However, my question is this....is 55mph a reasonable burden to put on a 750cc engine for up to 12 hrs a day?
It's a bit over 900 miles one way, figuring two days to do it.

55 is alright , figure more like three or four days. Get a Rich Maund seat, "Your ass will thank you!"

Mine runs 55 to 60 all day, I tried 65 and 70 and made it almost to Dodge City Kansas before the final drive blew so I stick to 55 - 60.

It's doable if you don't mind riding in the dark. I second Bilge Keel Dave's opinion. A stock Ural seat is good for about 5 hrs at a time max.

I LOVE long distanc on my '94 650 Ural , I added the factory tractor seat and one of Rich's gel seat covers , my a$$ is STILL thanking him several years later as I can do 500 + miles a day , couldn't on the stock bench seat that was in *perfect* condition .
Adjust the valves , set the timing and HOT change the oil & filter , have a great trip ! take lots of photographs to share .
