So after an exhilarating ride in the 38 degree weather, I now have a shiny new, 4 year old Wolf in the driveway. All in all, not a bad ride considering my first ride as a licensed operator was at night, on the interstate in the frigid cold! I'm definitely hooked on this Russian. Now that my fingers have thawed, I'd like to say thanks to all those who warned, encouraged or did something else to influence me. Now, a quick word to the wise: when buying a bike, check your apartment lease agreement. No cycles allowed in these parking spaces. Gonna have to pony up another 90 bucks a month for a garage. Whoda thought? That is definitely one thing that never even occurred to me. Live and learn.

Congrats on yer new scoot...have fun and be safe...heres the part I hate to tell ya though, sooner or later we all take a spill/skid whatever you wanna call it. Do whatever you gotta do to make it out in one piece and in good shape.

If this is your first MC, do take a riders education course...you'll be glad for what you'll learn. Good luck Jeepers

This is a site that is a bit skimpy, but will at least give you some info on a Wolf.

Man, you think $90 bucks a month is bad, try to shell out for three hack dogs at $500 a pop. We did that at an apartment in Owensboro, KY and at our last rental home in Abilene, TX. You are getting off cheap. Lucky the Wolf does not have a hack in it or you may be tempted to get a hack pooch. :-)

Also, don't overlook going to IMZ home webpage and copying the on-line downloads there for the Wolf.

So stoked to ride in and show her off to the die hard harley riders tomorrow morning. Kraut, took the MSF course back in July to se if cycling was right for me got bit and have been saving ever since. I was actually surprised how well I could hear the Ridercoach in my head like Ben Kenobi "Look where you want to go... Both brakes...Signal-Over The Shoulder- Then Go"
Huey, thanks for the link hadn't found that page yet. Did find This page about wolves. I read the manual from cover to cover, or I suppose as close to that as you can get with a PDF. As for the getting the Hack Pooch, He's already here wondering why it took me 2 extra hours to get home tonight! He's used to riding in my topless Jeep, so He'd probably be great in the hack.
Finally, to whoever it was that mentioned the header placement when using the foot controls (mighta been you Huey) you weren't kidding! The heels of my boots are a bit scorched where in my laziness I dropped my feet down to rest on em. Truly a goofy design.
So how many months till spring?!

No, I can't take credit on the exhaust heat thoughts. Glad you are enjoying your ride. You may want to check out the members areas of the IMZ site, Wagner's messsage board, SS and here to see who else has a Wolf in particular, Never know when that info may come in handy. Some folks list their bikes in their signature area, so just pay attention to such. Good luck on her. Ride safe and enjoy!

Save your $90 per month and challenge them.
Everyone has policies and most are illegal! Ask Microsoft, lol
Here in my retirement mobile home park in Florida, it is against the rules ... owning motorcycles, so 6 of us have them, well we challenged the policy when confronted by the owners of the park, and won.
If it legal outside the park (street Legal no loud mufflers, etc, licensed and insured) and you have the state endorsement, it cannot be illegal in the park!!

You know what really blows them away? Instead of walking your bike backwards out of a parking spot, through it into reverse!! Your Wolf may not have the reverse gear lever arm, but the capability is there and you just need to add the lever.

That reminds me. The Wolf DOES have a reverse gear lever arm, but does it actually have reverse gear? It's the same gearbox as the sidecar rigs no? If it does, how does one use it? I didn't see anything about it in the manual. THAT would blow them away.

I think you'll find the Wolf does NOT have reverse. Even Ural understands how lawyers work in the US. The lever does make a real nice neutral finder though! Did you get an owner's manual? Here's the link to IMWA's http://www.imz-ural.com/support/manuals/20...rs%20Manual.pdf

Yeah, played around with it a bit but couldn't get it to work. A couple of other bike guys were oohing and ahhing over it and I have already been invited on a number of rides. Funny how bikes open up a whole new line of conversation with people you've known for a while. You're right about the neutral finder though.

Dood.... it's just a little solo bike....

Perhaps they changed something, because Lutz, the Ural dealer in Nova Scotia owns two Wolfs, an 05 and an 06 I believe, and they have a full reverse gear....which work perfectly.

I was watching viewo clips at Metcafe last night. I don't reacall what I had plugged into the search for the clips though, but I did see a Wolf with a reverse and the fellow backed it out of the drive, so they must have made some with working reverse gears in them. Not sure if he was in Russia or where, but I think he was. If I run across the same video clip in the future, I'll try to see about posting it. No guarantee though, as I look at tons of video clips.

I forgot what I was going to say, it was in bad taste anyway.....But congrats on the wolf, treat it well, never let it bounce all the way from the third floor....Ride It!....Ken unsure.gif
