I will be there along with my son, to keep me awake for the 6 hour drive down!  :feelssogood:

So I am in for 2 and I'll take a nice quiet campsite...not too far from the head please...    :beerchug:

My only concern as this is the first time bringing the young one along, is that, unlike RDV, where there are sidecar games, a mini zoo and swimming...BURP might bore him, while I am having a blast with the Ural....

Either way, we're in...see you there....

There's a little brook running beside the tent sites we'll be using. Just leave him alone. He's a boy. He'll instinctively work at damming up the brook and later that night it'll flood out our tents. He'll have a ball! Don't worry!

:beerchug:

Changing the oils today and  the Ural is good to go! Donna and I plan to ride all the way out and back!!

Does he like to dig?  Take him to Fairy Stone State Park and let him dig for fairy stones.  Then bring him back and point him at the creek.

Donna and I are all packed. We'll meet up with Sid out in Suffolk on Rt. 58 tomorrow morning and we'll ride out together. We'll be at the campground tomorrow in the late afternoon.

See y'all there!

We're mostly packed, planning to ride unless there's a cloudburst or something.  We probably won't get as early a start, but we should be at the Blue Ridge Motel sometime tomorrow afternoon or evening.

See y'all there!

Somthing fell off.
I just loaded the bike on the truck when I noticed the nut and bushing on the arm that keeps the front brake drum from spinning around are missing. I still have the old welded arm that I kept. If I can get the right size nut I can put it in when I'm down there.

Ya lost the nut AND the entire bushing? Excellent job!
I think ya actually NEED them parts though...  but I suppose NOT as long as ya never use the front brake?

;-)

We can't make the BURP . Headin for Cheeseheadland around Egg Harbor again this weekend.

Youz guyz have FUN and ride SAFE.
Mostly, try to stay out of New Jersey Ken's way, cuz he ain't gots no way to stop....

When I got to Floyd, LugNut helped set me up with a bushing from the disguards at a repair and towing place. So I was good to go before we went riding. I probaly lost it the first weekend in june at the Jersey Devil Hunt. I road to work about half the days since then. Did not notice any differance. 10mm stud floating around in a 1 inch hole, close enough for Ural brakes.

Had a fantastic time at the Blue Ridge Ural Riders Party. This was my first Ural Rally and I was made to feel most welcome. I decided that Ural riders are my kind of people. My 20 year old daughter was co-pilot and she has already reserved the sidecar chair for the BURP rally next year. She had never toured on a motorcycle or tent camped and she absolutely loved it. Many thanks to the hosts Rich Maund and Sid Pollard.  Well done!  Thanks NJ Ken for the Russian beer.  I am not much of a beer drinker but the #4 was the perfect beverage for the cookout sausages and Lugnut's fantastic chili.  Lord willing, we will be there next year. I will upload some of the photos my daughter took in the next few days.  Thanks to all who attended, I very much enjoyed meeting you and spending some great time together.

Marty, Mike and I went for a little offroading on sunday when most packed up and went home. Here is a little of what you missed. It's steeper than it looks. I asked Will to give us drrections to some more Ural friendly offroad for first timers for next time.

Ken,

Good thing I passed on that.  I'd have never gotten the car/trailer in there... :thumbsup!:
