The numbers didn't add up this year. The rule of thumb over the past 5 years is that about 25 percent of the total attendees preregister as of last friday there were only 4 folks that had done that. Even count the regulars that come with out prereg. There was no way to cover the cost of the site and supplies. I did have a lot of folks send their regrets that would not bw able to attend too.

So we'll try again next year and I'll try to have the date and location locked in by the time of the FART rally that will give folk more time to plan and schedule to attend.

So I would like to encourage everybody east west and middle america to help your rallymasters by letting them know as early as possible if you plan on attending a rally. It's a great help to them in their planning and coordination of their event.

I believe that BURP is next on the east coast so let's support Sid Pollard and crew in a fun rally in a great location with fantastic rides.

Please goto uralrallies.com for info on a rally near you.

Robbie,

Sorry things did't work out.  I belong to other organizations with the same problem lately.  People are spending more of their weekends working than having fun.  I myself have a hard time making solid commitments for weekend activities because of work schedules many times not knowing untill the night before whether I can make it.   I have found that sometimes simpler is better.  With some other rallies etc. I participate in,  we use campgrounds or facilities that can accomodate a few individual reservations if a large crowd can't commit.  Some of the most memorable group events i've been to have had only a small handfull show up.  Since I haven't been to a SPITS rally yet I can only read about past SPITS on this board and others.  From what I read you and others put alot of work into It to make it successfull.  I only hope it returns in some form next year so I may experience it.

I have to wonder if the slowing economy and high gas prices hurt?

Although we'd never miss SPITS, we have cut way back on our driving.

And I do want to thank you guys for so many wonderful past SPITS Rallies! Your hard work is very much appreciated. You guys are just incredible! Thank you! If there's anything I can do for the next one please just let me know!

I'd be willing to bet that had as big, if not the BIGGEST impact on attendace, as anything else Rich.
