Come on down to the New Jersey Pine barrens to play in the sand and get your bike dirty. The terrian is all flat and sandy lined with pitch pines with some water crossings. A knobby on the drive wheel is recomended but not nessicary. Marilin rode her gear up with us a few years ago on street tires and never swithched to 2wd.

We will be staying at the Paradise Lake campground 500 Paridise Drive Hammonton NJ Telephone # 609-561-7095. Tell them you are with the Riders of the Eastern Front so they will group us all together. The campground is on the border of Wharton State Forest, 110,000 acres of fun in the sand. feel free to PM or email me with any questions.

This sounds like a great time!  We just bought a Gear-Up last week, and are very novice sidecar-rig riders.  Would this be a good rally to attend, or is the terrain very difficult to ride with little experience?

This is a great place to start off roading. We will be mostly on sand roads and some quad trails. The terrian is all flat and sandy no rocks. I mean no rocks don't count on finding a rock to bang in your tent pegs. It's not a race we are just there for fun. If you fall behind we'll wait for you. Don't push your rig faster than you are comfortable with to keep up.

Ken,

Thanks so much for the confidence!  That picture is great and looks like a fun time.  I can't commit to a definite attendance yet, but we would love to make it and will see if we can.

We had a great time last year!  I'll be there again this year.  You can even take your Ural swimming if you want at this one (Ha Ha inside joke for those who were there last spring)

Okay, I called and confirmed arrival.  See ya all in June.  So far its one rig, me and my daughter.  Are we cooking there?  Can I bring any thing, stove, food, Dnepr front end? Let me know, I can cook a heck of an entry if I need to.

This is a low key event.   It's about seeing some friends and getting our bikes dirty.  There's no host, agenda, or much organization for that matter.  Since it usually ends up just two breakfasts and maybe two dinners together,  its easier to just ride to a local joint and let them handle the dishes.

Every year I think it would be nice to pack a picnic lunch for the Saturday ride, but I've never gotten around to it and no one has starved (yet).

Bottom line, don't worry about it, just come down and have fun.  Camp however you and your daughter are comfortable.  There are no hazing rituals, initiation fees, or secret ceremonies.  As a matter of fact, we've yet to actually see the Jersey Devil, although rumor has it he grabbed Bob's sidecar wheel last year.
