The color white would open itself to too many aspersions.

The name "The Porcelain Ural" just doesn't do it for me.
The views expressed are the febrile product of an overactive imagination of a person who in shadows sees the gyrating Elvis-like ghost of Leonid Brezhnev.

There were actually 5 of them made 1 was flown the 2nd,Ptichka ( little bird) is 98% complete but was never flown before the program was stopped in 1993. The 3rd was dismantled and is on display in Moscow, a 4th is on display in Space City visitor center.
Funny thing is that they looked at the program and found disposable rockets did a better job cheaper. So in typical WWID format they cut the program. Unfortunately in a all to common practice they never maintained the roof of the hanger on the completed bird and the roof collapsed on it destroying it.

fwiw... The Space Shuttle program will come to an end in 2010 once the final solar panels on the ISS are delivered and installed. Afterwards we are going back in time to multi-stage rockets, back to the moon and Mars... its gonna be fun!

This seems like a lot of hullabalu over some one flip decision to call something similar to the real thing, that Raven name...wouldn't know Ural NW if they walked thru my door, but I have a suggestion for them to keep some humor in this life, call it , an "old Crow" supply each with the appropiate bottle of same...to be drank only when the original owner sells his black beauty, now if the original owner choses not to consume the bottle, it will only enhance the value...now everyone is happy, ural NW has eaten some "crow", those people who find a flat black ural pretty ( they have a queer vision problem) can have one that is special, have their boose and bike too, so to speak...who knows, they both may become like Shelby Mustangs, JBG will become rich, hold wild boose partys during bike week....but I digress....and I will not live that long....Ken :ninja:  :unsure2:

I certainly agree that the name "Raven" is certainly overused to the point of absurdity.

What are some of the, as yet, untapped possibilities?

The biodiesel with a wooden sidehack : The Natural

The expand two person sidehack edition : The Plural

The farm edition :The Agricultural

The with open pipes : The Aural

The "I'm not sure what it is" edition : The Conjectural

The "too soft tractor seat" edition : The Epidural

The ASL (American Sign Language) edition : The Gestural

The 2008 name for the Gear-Up : The Guttural

The "Mensa" edition : The Neural
I don't care who you are, that was funny. :unsure2:

That's pretty good, too.
