Ahhhh yea, boys and girls, old and young, northern and southern, it is time to start talking CRAP VIII!!  I'll just put it out there that I held the same date as last year (just to hold a point on the calendar) of the first weekend in May (May2-4) at the Ole Gilliam Mill in Sanfors, NC.  I just want to get the discussion going about who might be able to come out.  For those who don't know (you can also do a search for prior CRAPs) CRAP is a gathering of like-minded folks that enjoy eachothers company, playing around on the rigs, and EATING!!  Basically it works like this:  If you live out of the area just show up with your tent and sleeping bag-if you live close to the rally and can help out tell us what you can bring (I'll get a list up here before too long, but basically it will be food, paper plates, water, ect), bring your tent and sleeping bag, ect.....and then get ready to:   I will get with Jimmy (guy that runs the place) and ensure that the price has stayed the same, find out how many folks plan on coming and will let everyone know how much it is per site (in the past this has been between $10 and $20 for the weekend)-which can't be beat anywhere!!  So look at your calendar and see if this date would be best or if there is another date what could get the most members here to attend.  I'll throw a poll out there, but these dates are by no means the only choices.

Would like to attend this year, haven't been able to make it in a while.  Seems the wife feels April dates would be better.

I've been waiting for the San Francisco, CA, Russian Riders region to put together a ride called
"Bay Area Riding Fun".

What's taking you so long?

Russ, start it yourself. Just pick a state park and say, here it is and they will come.

BigJames: True advice.
However:
- since I live 800 miles north of San Francisco, and
- am retired and now working on finishing my next steam locomotive project, and
- because I've long-ago contributed to organizing a Seattle-regional Russian Riding Gang (The Axles of Evil),
I have retired from such organizing.

I do happily still ride both of our Urals between the sheets of rain here, year round, and will continue to do so.
Ride Safe,

There was some talk one evening at a rally some years back about starting a 'Bikers Of the Outer Banks' but I think it fell from lack of support.

That's why we are doing GROPE this year. Said to hell with it, have it, they may come. Running at the same time as our "normal" (that's a stretch) rally so we'll have fun regardless. Always a couple Uras there regardless, it is a sidecar rally. The guy leading the ride is legendary on the BMW side. GS with a modified Ural tub. Great rider and knows how to be able to ride fast and allow everyone to catch up and have a good time. If no one tries, nothing happens. If nothing happens, oh well, we tried!
