Well, I sold the K750/MT9 bike I had and kept the sidecar. Procured some weld on mounts for that I will be putting on my Yamaha XS650 and ordered a few hundred $$ in parts from Moto-Boxer.com to completely rebuild the sidecar.

I just want to say, for anyone that might be looking to order from Moto-boxer.com, they were great with communication, service, and packaging.

The XS650 will be a street tracker style with 19" mag wheels front and back, dual disc front brakes, the sidecar will get a matching 19" Yamaha mag wheel with 25mm (ID) tapered bearings and a XS650 late model disc brake and caliper.

I'd love to see that. I've had a complete blast learning to drive with a sidecar. I'm going camping next weekend and will be taking the rig along with me!

Besides food and shelter, the rig was one of the coolest things I've ever had with me on a camping trip. Was able to lug around tackle and a cooler + passenger, spent hours pulling right up to the waters edge and fishing right from the sidecar, it's handle made a great pole holder.

Picked up an XS1100 leading axle front end for dual front brakes, stronger forks and hopefully better steering. Also working on a oil cooler for the motor.

First time in the rain this morning, it was an absolute blast. Don't tell my wife, but I'm in love.

Also looking at a 1996 Ural Tourist with sidecar locally, $1800 and needs "motor work", but looks great. Any opinions?

A 1966 Ural Tourist for $1800 probably has the original 650cc engine, complete with a broken crankshaft.
Non-trivial.  Even a running 650 engine is not a long-term power plant.

Thanks for the advise. It's a 1996 not 1966. Said It had a timing issue.

He is willing to sell just the sidecar and we are talking about trading for a running Honda I have. Maybe I'll start another hybrid when my current project is where I want it.

John:
Yes, a 1996.  Finger glitch on my part.  My comments were about a '96.
Regardless, share what transpires.  'Could be fun!
