I always wondered if the Germans had a manual for camo paint schemes.  The US Army had manuals specifying exact paint schemes for vehicles: http://olive-drab.com/od_mvg_camo.php .  Anybody know if the Germans had manuals regarding the paint schemes for their vehicles.

After reading this, it appears that "light" units were exempted from camouflage. But yes, there were some standards regarding percentages of coverage, if not patterns, though later in WWII, patterns were standardized, somewhat.

Edit: well, it says that it "was not uncommon to see" light units in camo.
