I'll be there if I can get a new crank stuffed in mine by then.

BTW Have y'all ever considered moving a little farther west to Uhwarrie Nat'l Forest? They have lots of ATV trails to keep us 2wd folks entertained.

Did that cran k I sent you work?  Did you run a dial indicator on it? Was it bent?
Don't force it, get a bigger hammer.

It has been mentioned several times.  One member even went to a campground and took pics.  Looked great.  We have a friend in the area who rides there and suggested that area when we first started talking about having a North Carolina rally.  Maybe next year?

I love riding those trails and forest roads you speak of. This year, since I am riding to and from the rally on the Ural, I'll probably just relax and enjoy the food, cameraderie, etc on Saturday, then pull out early Sunday for the two day ride home.

If CRAP becomes an off-road rally- Great! But I'll probably trailer my rig there and back.

Ken, Hope  you can make it.....my apple wood has run out for my smoker! :thumbsup!:

Just wondering for those coming to CRAP, who rides with a GPS on their bike?

I make a sun shield for GPS units and thought I'd bring a  couple to give away as door prizes.  If you use a GPS post the make and model here so I'll have an idea what to bring.

You can look at them here: www.sunstopper.biz  Find your model and see if it takes the small or large version.  I'll bring one or two of each to give away!

It's just around the corner, I've got to start getting ready!

Dang. I'm out. I haven't had any time to work on my Ural yet. I also realized that I'm on call that weekend. I hate to miss it. Sounds like a blast.

Peter,
I never checked that crank you sent me. Many thanks, though. I managed to score a parts motor from our friend up in the mountains (Bural). I have all my parts now, just need a little more time to get it done.

I would be more than happy to help out any time if y'all want to do something in Uhwarrie. It's only an hour from me and I've been involved in a bunch of Jeep and military vehicle events there. Matter of fact, there's a military vehicle run (steelsoldiers.com) coming up April 16-18. I may very well take the Ural. It'll probably be more of a social event than a serious trail ride. Anybody wanna join us?

For those that have never been there the trails range from gravel road to some pretty serious rock crawling. There is enough there to suit most any taste (as long as you like the taste of dust). There are a couple nice campgrounds (one with lake frontage) and also a large group camp that is well suited to such events.

If any of this sounds interesting to anyone just shoot me an email as I don't always keep up with the forums... bullgearinc (at) bellsouth (dot) net

Sorry, but we aren't going to be able to make it.  Our travel is kind of restricted these days due to employment issues.  I hope to be able to make it to BURP, though.

ALL,

The weather is not looking real good for the CRAP rally! :feelssogood:

Temps in the 50's and rain on Fri and Sun.  Hopefully it will change for the better before Friday!

I didn't get to come last year, but 2 years ago, it drizzled ALL weekend!

Everybody ride safe coming in, see ya Fri.

Bobby

The heck with the weather. If it looks bad, I'll just come in the van.  :feelssogood:
I'll bring extra tarps we can tie up into the trees for shelter during the shooting of the breezes too.
I need a break to sit around the fire and enjoy the company of fellow foilheads. I know afterwards that THAT is the memory I'll keep. The rain I'll forget about.  :beerchug:

THERE WILL BE NO RAIN!

We're driving in from afar and it WILL BE SUNNY the whole way there and back!

THE FORECAST IS WRONG!
