The 4th annual CRAP (Carolina Rally and Potluck) is on this year for the last weekend in March 26th-28th.  It will be held at Jordan Lake, NC.  The site is located at Group Camp Site #4 at Vista Point.  The confirmation number is 34060.  This is the number you give to the front gate folks if they ask.  And whether you are camping or not, say you are camping so you don't have to pay the $5 entrance fee.   The gates close by 6 p.m., so plan for that.
The CRAP rally started out as just a few of us getting together to BS and eat well.   It has grown to where quite a few of us get together and BS still eat really well.    So, whether you can bring something or not-come on out and we will ensure that you do not go hungry or dry (there has been known for a beer or two to get thrown back). :beerchug:   Site #4 is the same site that our first one was held and is wooded (but still open) and right on the water.  There is PLENTY of room for tents and there is a hotel very close by for those who do not want to camp.  We normally show up on Friday and set up the camp at which point we may or may not go for a group ride and then sit by the fire most the night.   Saturday we eat breakfast, BS, group ride (or not), have the potluck in the mid to early afternoon, BS, group ride (or not), nap, BS, ride (for those who can sit up on their rig), try and finish off the food, and sit by the fire most the night.   Sunday breakfast, BS, and get ready to go.
It would be nice if those of who who plan on attending to toss a thumbs up on this thread just so I will know if we need the site next door also.  The cost is $5 per family and this includes the camp site and entrance onto the food table.  We always have plenty to eat, so if you drive your rig, don't worry about bringing anything for the potluck.  Those of you that live close or are trailoring your rig (you really don't even have to bring a rig), also let me know what you plan on bringing for the potluck (so we don't double up on stuff).
Thanks and I look forward to meeting all who can attend.
John

I'll be there. A few of us are trying to organize a ride in. The furthest north is coming from Connecticut. We will be linking up probaly in Pensilvania on thursday. Riding south and over nighting some where in Virginia and getting to the rally on Friday. This could get complicated. The route has not been settled on yet. It's either Gettyburg or the chesapek bay tunnel bridge. If you are some where along the route you will need to come up with a meeting place that is not a big detour for us, get there early and be pre pared to wait. A diner where you can park out front, so we can see the bike, and sit and drink coffee would be a good idea.

Is everyone in on the uniform of the day. Pajama bottoms and riding boots in the morning. The crazier the pajamas the better.

In your case Rich, no. If Peter's monkey Amanda from the last RonDeeVoo wants to show up wearing nothing but riding boots that would be just fine. I usualy don't wear pajamas either but I got some just for the occation. Here are some pictures from the Ron Dee Voo with Amanda in them.

The mental images here are NOT conducive to a calm, relaxed demeanor!

It's bad enough I will have to put up with you guys, let alone in jammies. (Yes, I'll be there. I'm spending the winter in Charlotte, so Apex is right around the corner.)

Bring on the Balitka!

Hey Guys,

Haven't been on in a while, but was just thinking about CRAP and thought I'd see if I could find a post on it.

Didn't get to come last year, but I hope to make it again this year!  I'll double check the calendar and let you know for sure.

I'm in. I'm riding the rig down with NJ Ken and others (?); but like Ken said, the route is not yet determined.

Ken: What do you think of riding to the rally by way of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel and riding back from the rally by way of PA?

I noticed the calendar at work was filling up, so I've got to get my name down for March.  I plan on being there this year!

BTW, I changed my avatar.  Figured I needed a pic of the Russian Iron instead of the American Steel! :beerchug:  :beerchug:
