I'm thinking about it, since I will miss BURP this year due to other vacation plans.

How is the riding in that area?

Central Pa.? Gorgeous gentle mountain ridges and valleys. Lots of green hardwoods. Beautiful area.

Guys... Remember the Baltika bottles I collected up to recycle at the CRAP Campout? I used those to bottle a wonderful oatmeal honey stout a couple days ago. This is a recipe I have made before. Has fuggle and champion hops for flavor and aroma. Nice roasted barley malt and chocolate malt and fresh rolled oats. It will have bottle conditioned nicely by the time the rally gets here.  :P  :thumbsup!:   I have a bit of the Russian Imperial Stout I shared at CRAP to bring there too. Hope y'all enjoy my home cooking!

Since oral surgery turned Ron Dee Voo into just a daytrip for me last year,  I'm planning to head up Thursday this year and make up for lost time.

Hey Rich, When is BURP this year?   I've been planning to attend but was thinking it was 7/17-7/19.  Now I'm thinking it's the weekend before, when I have another commitment :thumbsup!:

It was a great time. A little too wet in the tent, but what's a little water compare to friends, fun in the mountain roads and seeing all the gret rigs. I learned a new term - drivable trail. Don't know if i would dare to drive any of those drivable trails on my own but just being the chair monkey made me giggle whenever i looked over the edge of the trail, looking down at tree tops. Here are some pics.

Fighting that rain to get there Friday I had my car's wipers on high for an hour and a half! That was some unreal rain! Thankfully it had cleared off by the time I got there early that evening.

Saturday made the whole trip worth it! Beautiful day and many great rigs to admire and friends to see. Sarge ran the foil hat competition again this year and the grand prize was a cool artifact. It is purported to be the men's room key to the men's room at the Ural factory in Irbit! Sarge wanted to win it so bad that he actually taped a real urinal to his foil helmet and stole the show with a rousing cheer from the crowd there. So even against stiff competition, he won it hands down!
Just the right amount of craziness in a day.  :feelssogood:

Rain hit again late Saturday night and then fell softly all sunday morning. I was darn happy I had bought that old Kwik Kamp pop up trailer. Waaay better at keeping you comfortable in rain than a plain tent. It's so light and compact it didn't even affect my car's gas mileage getting it up there! Stowing it for the trip home involved no crawling and under 5 minutes of time too.

My thanks to everyone who ran the rally this year. It was a pleasure to attend!

I didn't get too many pics taken. Max's are much better. But I did get a shot of the Irbit Men's Room Key!

This is my favorite new photo of Ken. If he had a uniform of the russian road police it would have been priceless. Although he still looks the part.

As always a great time was had by all.

Did miss Mike Schwartz and Larry the Biker Actuary. WAY too quiet during the awards ceremony!!

Gotta thank Rich Maund for coming up with that OUTSTANDING prize for the Foilhead contest. I had a prize to give out but his was FAR superior. And, since I was no longer giving the prize, I could compete. I hadn't planned to originally. As always, age and treachery overcame youth and enthusiasm!

At RDV II, we had 19 Urals in attendance. We gotta try to beat that number for RDV VII!!

Sarge :thumbsup!:

And it was great sharing! 38 years sitting on my shelf waiting for "the right occasion" was long enough. The gang at Little Siberia was that occasion!

There is about 1/4 of the bottle left. After drinking that first toast, I am guessing one shot mixed in a quart of tomato juice MIGHT be acceptable to wimps like me! In describing it to a friend I asked, "Ever drink a shot of lava?"!!

Sarge :thumbsup!:
