We are planning the Rally in the Valley at the top of Virginia June 12-14.   Access to four states, the Skyline Drive, several national parks, and just good riding.

It's not that far from Ohio, is it?

Ah, the other side of the known world! I'm near Warren.

There are three Dnepr owners in/around Burton but I do not know their names or any other info. One day late last summer I was driving past the Geauga Co Fairgrounds and heard that familiar sound. I pulled in and talked with them. All bought their rigs from Yuri earlier that day. They were "bombing around" the fairground, blissfully ignorant of the quirks and dangers of riding a sidecar rig. The way they were going, I don't know why one of them didn't roll the rig on a right turn. Beginers luck, I guess.

The RonDeeVoo is in Weikert PA 7/30 to 8/2 this year. They always do the first weekend in August. It's a sidecar ralley for all sidecars. About 100 to 150 rigs show up. Takes place in a big field that is usually a shooting range. It's well organized with sidecar games,  some meals included, and door prizes.

The Jersey Devil Hunt takes place in the New Jersey Pine Barrens. Usually at a campground adjioning Wharton state forest. It is not organized. About 8 riggs show up,more are welcome. Our main activity is trail riding. Preceided by going out for a big breakfast followed by drinking around the campfire. We've always done the first weekend in june at the suggestion of  Big Larry's bike. Last year it was unusually hot then so there was some talk of moving it back to an earlier date. Anyone want to do first or second weekend in May or should we take a chance on our usual date? Usually it's barely shorts weather the first weekend in june.

If you come up with a date and location for an Ohio rally that dose not conflict with these or the RotEF rallies or my trip to ride with Grahm and Julie down under I'll be there.
hi ken..id go for earlier date..boy was it a blister last year..sparta bob

Ok. May 15 to 17.  May 15 popped into my head upon reading you post before checking if that was a weekend and I've had good luck going with first impressions so I'm going to go with it. This years Jersey Devil Hunt will be May 15-17.  I'm sure we will have good weather.

I went to the 2nd and last annual AMA cross roads ralley in 2002. Only 3 to 5 thousand bikes showed up so they considered it a failure and never did it again. It was a good riding area in that 1/5th of the state that dosen't have square roads and looks boring as heck.  I'm guessing this is that part GW laid out before the land grant regs.

Shoetou lives on the edge of  that part of Ohio that is flat as a pancake with crossroads every mile. SE Ohio has roads that are a blast on two wheels and quite challenging for three. SR800 comes to mind immediately.

One;
I like Yuri, every thing he has sold me has been right on. but I have done due diligence on each item.
Two;
I'm in Southern Indiana, Madison IN. I don't have a trailer and am not driving more that an hour. That will get me to Florence, right over the river. Any suggestions?
I would love a Dnepr Ural meet.
As long as we all understand that Dnepr is the real bike and Ural is the cheap post USSR capitalist running dog copy.
###### you on the running.

Has anyone ever considered a ride  up in Wisconsin? The original Russian Club was based up in Superior, I was not around then. We have in the central part of the state, some prestine riding, from super slabs to nice old country roads, Wisconsin,  has a Rustic Road program that maintains old original roads as they were in the early part of the 20th century. We have straight and narrow, twisties, many, many county parks, and attractions, some natural, and some like about 19 Indian gaming Casinos, fishing , swimming, Numerous Bar and Grills, and some finer resturants, what ever one  chooses, I have about 4-5 acres that is cleared and level, in the orchard, No close picky neighbors, and is pretty private, etc, so picken and singin is ok.  would make for a nice Camping, parking, bonfire spot.Motels are nearby also. Water and electric are acessable, all this is located a half mile off I-39. In these economic  times, one has to watch all the nickles, so along with that thought, all the camping would be free, port-a -pottie would take care of those needs.  As I am approaching an over the hill situation (way off in the distance)  I would need some help on this to run things....Is there any interest? as we are cooler, a mid summer date would work, about any time from mid may to mid Sept. I have had this thought in mind for quite a while, these are always fun....only thing prohibited is global warming discussions... :rolleyes:  :rolleyes: ...not really... This could be 2009 or 2010, 2010 might be a better shot, as we will see what the new crop of villians in DC, has up their sleeves, I think we shall all be on a budget anyway, but at least have time  to plan this all out.......Ken
