The fall Jersey Devil Hunt will be sept 19 to 21 at the Paradise lake campground Hammonton NJ phone # 609-561-7095. Tell them you are with the Riders of the Eastern Front or the Russian motorcycle group when making reservations so they will group us all together.

This is in the heart of the New Jersry pinebarrens. The campground borders Wharton State Forest 110,000 acres of fun in the sand. The main activity is trail riding and going out to eat followed by drinking beer around the campfire. A knobby on the drive wheel helps but is not nessicary.  Your rig is guarnteed to get dirty. This is a great place for firstime offroaders to learn. The area is flat and sandy no rocks. We are not in a race, if you fall behind we'll wait for you.

Good choice, Ken.  The only weekend that was still open in September.  I'm in!

ps: Ken, our Devil hunting guide, have you ever seen a movie called The Last Broadcast?  http://en.wikipedia....roadcast_(film)

Just heard on the news about a fire in Wharton, 100 acres burned so far.

I looked it up on the map, hopefully the winds don't shift.   It is right on the other side of rte 206,  almost directly accross from the campground.

Oh that's a little one for down there. I'm sure it will be out by the time we get there. We should go and check out the damage. 10 years ago I road through the smoke past the fire fighters with my brother in the hack and waved. We could see stuff burning off the side of the trail. If it got bad I would have banged a U turn.

This one's nothing compared to last year's big one.   The news report mentioned that they were below the average 1000 acres burned every year.

This one just happened to be almost at the end of Paradise Lane.  They were showing helicopters taking water from Atsion Lake.

That's great riding out there... used to ride my DR350 through there.

If I can get my paperwork straightened out in time, I'll try to make an appearance. Do you think a last minute reservation would work out? Or is it going to be booked solid?

He/she looks friendly enough to me.

I can't say for sure though.  The campground is under new ownership since we there in June.  I know the old owner's were OK with it, but you might want to call.

You won't be the first Gear-up with hack-puppy in the Pine Barrens;

I don't think I can get off from work that weekend,  but if things change I may make an appearance with a new knobby on the pusher.
