Are there any plans for the F.A.R.T. rally in Asheville this year?  I haven't seen anything on this board nor on the Ural Rallies webpage.  If we need some volunteers to make it happen I will be happy to participate.

Steve Jackson is usually the FART honcho.  I haven't heard anything from him, but I will be glad to add the info to the Events page when I get it.

Steve, you there???

I'm slow. It's just dawning on me that no one has even set a date for FART this year!

Traditionally we've been having it the second weekend in Oct.

The first weekend in Oct. is the Hack'd Rally in WV. So that weekend is spoken for.

Is the second weekend in Oct. good for everyone here? It is a bring your own everything Rally. We just show up and camp and ride around together and stuff after all.

So, following proper parlimentary procedure...... I propose we do this the second weekend in Oct. at the Asheville east KOA.
Any seconds?

Rich,

The second weekend is October 10-12.  That works fine, so count me in!

Folks

I had the pleasure of talking to Rich Winter today. Has has spoken to Steve Jackson.
He'll work to get us that big coffee pot we need to survive the chilly mornings. ;-)

Looks like we're a go for the second weekend of Oct at the Asheville NC KOA East!

We have no meals planned for now. Just a bring your own everything get together. But we will work to have plenty of hot coffee available for Saturday and Sunday mornings!

I'll try to bring our home made Biscotti to go with the coffee. ;-)

Edit to add. The KOA does serve a pretty good breakfast on weekend mornings. So you won't have to go far to eat if you don't want to!

I just got a reservation for Donna and I in a 1 room cabin under the trees near the bathhouse. (They don't give the exact site number.)

There are still cabins with 1 or 2 rooms and even the park lodge and a furnished cabin with plumbing available for those who don't tent!

Reserving on line is simple and they even print you out a map to get there!

OK, I snagged the 2 room cabin - the wife and dogs may come with me.

Looking forward to the rally and seeing you all!

Our cabin is booked.  There will be 4 of us. I noticed the park model and the lodge have already been reserved.  Wonder if they are Ural folks.  Get your reservations quick.  Looking forward to another great rally.

Do we just get our own site, or is there the F.A.R.T. rally listed with those folks and will know to put us close together?

Everybody books their own cabins, but if you want to tent camp no reservation is necessary.  They do put us all close together.  Just tell them you are with the Riders of the Eastern Front sidecar group.

And remind them we're old folks and all have to camp near the bath house.

That's a nice spot those as it right between the two lakes.

That would be New Jersey Ken who I believe has a pipeline directly to the Baltika factory or something like that... :thumbsup!:
