Hi folks.
Thanks for having me on here. I don't own a Russian bike at the moment, but as I get older, the styling and mechanical simplicity of the Ural is starting to appeal to me.
So I figured, this would be a good place to learn more.
Once I sell off one or two other projects, I think I'll start to look a bit more seriously at these.
Also, I have a bunch of what I think are mainly M67 parts. Would it be considered poor form to list these for sale on here so early in my 'career'?
Many thanks
Tony

G'day Tony,  welcome aboard. I have a couple of late model Ural Tourists & I'm in suburban Adelaide. PM me your contact details and maybe we can meet up.
Check out the local forum, Urals in Australia. A number of locals swap info there.

Thanks Norm. I don't get a lot of weekends free because of work, but would love to catch up at some stage so you can bestow your infinite wisdom on me!
Are you going to The Gathering next month?

Depends...............  What's "the Gathering"?  I'm going to the Cold Flame rally, and then VARSTy in March and hope to be at the SA Sidecar rally in April.

Norm,  The Gathering is the Russian bike owners club get together. Although I'm not an owner as yet, I was thinking of taking a run over on my GTR Kawasaki.
Hopefully I can get the time off.

I'd forgotten about the RMOA gathering in March. I attended their AGM rallies in Oct 2011 & 2012. Subsequently I resigned, and now have no contact with them.  I find events such as Cold Flame and VARSTy more relevant and enjoyable.
Your GTR will fit right in at the Gathering, the majority of RMOA rally attendees don't turn up riding Russian bikes.

That's a disappointing. I was thinking it might be a good place to see quite a few in one place. Maybe not..... :glare:

We should have a dozen or so at VARSTy, touring Vic for 12 days from 10 March onwards. All late model Urals , from '08 to '14, both carb and EFI, Tourists, Rangers, and Retros. You are welcome to join in for all or part. There'll be spare seats in sidecars if you want to go on some of the day outings. Details are on the Urals in Australia forum.
