hitch for a 2wd Gear Up

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am looking for a hitch to use with a small, motorcycle sized tent trailer with my 2006 Gear Up. The warranty has expired, so I won't be voiding it.

There was a dealer in Canada, Scootgo in Alberta, but it looks like thier web page is down.

Any other suppliers of a hitch suitable for a 2wd Ural?

Thanks in advance.

Gene from "Holopaw Corvette" sells - I think he makes 'em - trailer

hitches for Urals ... including the 2WD versions. I do recall he said

they won't fit if you've mounted an extra gas can on the inside rear

of the hack.

I believe there are some pictures on his web site ...

He accepts checks, but isn't equipped to do credit cards.

Thanks for the tip Jim, I will send Gene an email. I knew that he did hitches, but thought only for 1wd. My bike does not have a gas can mount on the inside of the car so his design should work.

I'll be getting one for my GearUP as soon as the warranty expires. I have done business with Gene and like his style.

I have a factory hitch on my Dnepr. It stuck out too far and I barked my shin on it while walking around the back of the rig. I cut the offending piece off and made a receiver type hitch out of it. Now I can remove the hitch and keep it in the trunk until needed.

Something like this, perhaps? This one is made up from 1 inch, .065 wall square tube, and attaches using muffler clamps. It will support my almost 300 pounds standing on the hitch and tows beautifully.
