I was just curious if anyone on the forum was interested in or supporting Ron Paul?

since this is in the whatever/political area lets have an un-scientific poll.

A strict Constitutionalist...I'll vote for him. We have strayed afar from the principles laid down by a handful of men with great foresight. We are teetering on the brink of a Socialist state.

Whether it be RP or someone else...folks need to toss off the 2 party yoke that has a strangle hold on our country.

Dave...if you think Hillary is conservative...you must be a registered Communist :thumbsup!:

I believe the media has already written Paul off as lunatic fringe the same as they have done with Dennis Kucinich on the left side of the equation. Paul they tie to Twin Towers conspiricy therorists and Kucinich to the flying saucer crowd. Just watch the loaded questions they get in the debates. They sure don't want to discuss their populist messages. There is an effort to discredit both from within their respective parties. Politics as usual.

It would be refreshing to see ANYONE who is not owned by corporate $$$ or special interests get elected and serve the needs of americans. What a concept!

Republicans or Dem's, seems like the few americans that bother to vote these days make the same mistakes over and over again (definition of insanity?) expecting different results by putting the same bought and paid for canadate / different name in office time after time. The faces change the agenda doesn't.

After this election Americans will most likely continue to have the best government money can buy. :thumbsup!:

Thanks for letting me have my little rant! :feelssogood:

Maybe a Paul/Kucinich Independent ticket for those of us who gladly wear the moniker "Lunatic Fringe". I saw Ron Paul on The Daily Show awhile back. Never heard of him before that. At the end of the interview I said "Damn. I may have to vote Republican". I was a bit upset about the fact that the only reason he runs as a Republican is because, in his words, he could never get elected as a Libertarian. All it takes to break the two-party system is for people to stand up and support the other candidate. Minnesotans know that well, as Ventura had a lot less corporate sponsorship and money in general for his campaign than the others and still won despite people trying to keep him out of the debates.

Just my 2 cents.

Here my nickels worth; America needs, desperately, NOT a woman ,NOT a rerun minister, priest,or rabbi, NOT a black< NOT an Indian, NOT an ex mayor, We need a Leader, who can look at this country, see all the elements of it, respond to their needs, with responsible solutions. Not people whos main intrest lies on the east coast. Who can dismantle the pork barrell industry in Congress, give the military the things it needs to scare hell outa those who would try us on for size. A person who is ready and willing to close our borders, spend taxes wisely, who can restore education to where a young girl can be taught how to cook, sew, manage a budget, care for her children, care for a husband, and be true to the contract she swore to uphold with him, To educate boys, to be self sufficent, develope wisdom, develope skills of all kinds, manage money, hold his chosen bride in high esteem, till death do them part....This takes a conservative, yet strong willed leader, who can literially, with out a spoken word, exhibit this aura of leadership to one and all worldwide. If Fidel can do it, from an island, why can't we have one here? One who can say to OPEC, we will not pay your price, do what has to be done, slower driving speeds, traffic light management, on a city wide basis, wide rangeing energy source developement, and if need be, periodic fuel sales restriction. we need, solar, water, coal, atomic, wind, source developement, and stop this bleeding of our economy by the countrys that own the oil that this country developed for them. One who will stop this position toward Isreal, that it can do no wrong. And stop meddeling in other countrys politics....like mind our own business, let americans develope small businesses, that can operate outside a tangle of red tape and harrasment, return to goverment by the people, for the people..... Get government behind the people, not on top of them....Tall order....very tall order...Who can do this, or even part of it....Fred Thompson

To be in favor of our constitution and in favor of our sovereignty and our rights is the fringe these days.

To keep your head in the sand and get all of your information from coorporate media and go along as sheeple is the norm.

All the other candidates are close enough to being the same. they are all members of the CFR (asside from maybe Kucinich)

*Fred Thompson is also a CFR Member.

You asked the question, and now you call people names, scheeze, and what may I ask is a CFR, you have stated nothing in your ranting, and where is hell do you get your information, on where I get mine? You sound like you are straight out of a very liberal and twisted facility of higher learning, where you learn to trash any Idea that does not fit your agenda....sorry...I made a statement, and you trash it....Ken

OH!

Ken, Let me apologize and explain. I was writing my response and had it open for a while while working on other things, so when I replied it came in after yours and I did not know of your post until I posted mine. I was replying more to the fringe comment from galen_of_avalon and then made my rant about my dis-satisfaction with the media etc... after I posted I noticed you comment and did an edit to add that Fred was also a member of the CFR (Council on Foreign Relations) I was NOT trying to insinuate anything about you or where you get your info. Again - I did not see your post until AFTER I posted mine and meant no offense.

I am not criticizing your opinion. my comment about Fred in the CFR is just evidence that leads me in my opinion to think all the candidates that belong to it are similar.

Geez Ken...I figured a guy like you would have heard/known of the CFR and the Trilateralists (Trilateral Commission) or TLC as the conspiracy folks call it.. Back in High School I used to read the "Foreign Affairs" publication so I could keep up with what those sneaky bass turds were planning. Freddy is indeed...one of the gang.

Depending where you stand...they are either our saviors...or the devil incarnate.

Well I will have to admit, that my high school, and political memories will match some of your grand parents, This country is in turmoil, watch the daily blogs on the primaries, we are bleedin money out of this country, to the point where I hate to go to Harbor Freight. At the risk of repeating myself, read what I wrote...We need to raise Kids who are not servants of any faction, we need leaders who are that, now, we do not need a black leader, with a full black cabinet, and oprah as vice president, before some one gets hacked, I point this out in jest, much like I would a have Cardinal for president and a bishop for VP, and a bunch of cute nuns for cabinet positions.

I am dead serious, this will be one of the most important elections in your life times, at 75, I can figure on a few more years, but all my family will be left in the middle of this mess. If you only lightly go over the history of the world for the last 200 years, you can see what can and will happen. Look at the moslem world today, someone got into their hearts and minds, a long time ago, and that seed has been growing for three or four decades, few murders here and there, at the start, then munich, 9-11, Iraq, SE Asia. where does it end, the blood that has flowed to this point, is nothing compared to a full scale conflict. The special intrest groups all want their piece of pie, with crumbs to the rest. Tonite on the news, a whale lover group was taking to task the Navy for doing sonar testing that pi--'s off the whales, and they got an injunction, for the Navy to stop. GB overrules the court, and said it is in our national intrest for sonar operations to continue. Right on GB, we don't need a antique sub hauling into a harbor a nice old nuc, that will burn another 200,000 or so souls, so that the whales can have a nice day, and the blubber lover's can feel all warm and fuzzy. As I said, we need a president, that can sift out the real needs of all the people, and let the special intrests, work like the rest of us....Ken :feelssogood:

Went to the site of the Council on foreign relations, pretty high class group, as mobs go, and Fred T. has been in Goverment for the better part of four decades.....so why shouldn,t he be in that group. His credentials seem to be suitable for that group, I see John Mc Cain in there, R.Nixon , Bill Clinton, and so on....Ken :feelssogood:
