Howdy All,

I want to express my condolences to the families of those University boys and girls who lost their lives because any mad or insane guy can buy and use firearms. :feelssogood: How many more killings are needed to make things change ? :P I had a dream... of a peaceful world.

Out of 300 odd million people, a foreign national come to town, and with his daddy's money buys a big gun, and breaks every law since time began..........and you want to disarm 300 odd million people, if all the people in europe had a good supply of guns in 1938, would Hitler have been able to bring about the deaths of millions of people? I think not dude. Today the mayor of Nagasaki Japan was murdered by a gunman, a criminal, who had a gun, where they are not even legal to own, only the criminals in Japan have the guns, common people have to chop hell out of there enemy's with rusty swords, proving the case that, people kill people, swords, knives, pop guns, bragging big bore guns, assault rifles, 16 in battleship guns,....are all just dumb machines, built to be capable of deeds, but never in all history has one sat up in bed and said " gotta go kill someone today".....let alone do it...Get real ...Ken :feelssogood:

Look here slick. You do things the way you want to in your own little socialist country. We'll do things the way we want to in our country.

Plus, he wasn't even a citizen. Immigrant with known mental problems...I remember when you got deported for less. We got enough of our own crazies without getting them from other countries...remember the "Marial Boat Lift"? Thanks to the liberals, we ended up with all of Cuba's trash.

Timothy McVeigh murdered 168 people in the Murrah Federal Building and did it without firing a shot.

It was just a matter of moments after she arrived on campus that the NBC reporter gal blamed the guns.

The liberals have already turned this into a political issue.

Guess I'll have to explain to the missus that's why we only have 3 kids. It's ALL my fault! Don't like guns and I fear what they can do in untrained hands, and that is the majority of the population. I did spend a part of my life as a weapons mechanic maintaining firearms from 40/60 through 50 cal down to 9mm, 7.62mm and 5.56mm. I still fear them in the hands of the wrong people.

I suspect most of the world is looking at the US and wondering how you can get something so right, so wrong. The need for a well armed miltia is not questioned by most, but to allow everyone to have access to fully automatic weapons is. And a Glock is a FULLY automatic weapon!

A while back we had a looney slaughter lots of people in Tasmania. The Federal Government wanted a ban of miltary style weapons and got it. I wanted a ban on any weapon capable of housing more than three rounds! If your not a good enough shot to do it in three rounds, you shouldn't have a weapon. And if your a good enough shot the fourth person will get you!

My country has opposed every referendum ever held on conscription, though Governments have forced through conscription. It's my RIGHT to die for my country, NOT my obligation. UNtil WWII we had National Service but not Conscription. Countries are best defended by WELL-trained militia. Not wankers with guns.

Just my opinion,

Peter Williams.

No one's blaming the actual gun, Ken - were' blaming the system that allows any schmuck to buy one.

You cannot argue with that logic....

Glocks pistols sold in the USA are NOT fully automatic weapons. They are semi automatic. i.e. pull trigger-goes bang once-pull trigger-goes bang once-etc-etc-etc

The media has been quick to blame the gun, no suprise there. Obviously when this guy had his background check ran when he purchased his guns legally, it came back negative and he was good to go. It's not a perfect system but it's what we have and there is not much more you can do to improve it.

Handguns are banned in DC, but statistically you have a better chance of being killed going for a stroll with your dog in the burbs of DC that on a patrol in Baghdad. Point is that criminals do not pay heed to the law of the land that is obviously why they are criminals.

What was one of the first acts Hitler did in Germany.... DISARM the Jews. We see how that worked out.

Don't give me that BS Yobe! The denial of refuge by the U.S.A. and the British Empire did far more! A place to run matters far more when you are in the Gunsights! Just a comment from another of the untermenschen!

I got my dates wrong... it was 1938 not 1933, but the same applies.... Sure is easier to round people up when they are not armed. Oh... and who are you refering to as untermenschen?

A Gun Control Law Passed by the German Government One Day After Kristallnacht

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1573

Regulations Against Jews' Possession of Weapons

11 November 1938

With a basis in §31 of the Weapons Law of 18 March 1938 (Reichsgesetzblatt I, p.265), Article III of the Law on the Reunification of Austria with Germany of 13 March 1938 (Reichsgesetzblatt I, p. 237), and §9 of the Führer and Chancellor's decree on the administration of the Sudeten-German districts of 1 October 1938 (Reichsgesetzblatt I, p 1331) are the following ordered:

§1

Jews (§5 of the First Regulations of the German Citizenship Law of 14 November 1935, Reichsgesetzblatt I, p. 1333) are prohibited from acquiring, possessing, and carrying firearms and ammunition, as well as truncheons or stabbing weapons. Those now possessing weapons and ammunition are at once to turn them over to the local police authority.

§2

Firearms and ammunition found in a Jew's possession will be forfeited to the government without compensation.

§3

The Minister of the Interior may make exceptions to the Prohibition in §1 for Jews who are foreign nationals. He can entrust other authorities with this power.

§4

Whoever willfully or negligently violates the provisions of §1 will be punished with imprisonment and a fine. In especially severe cases of deliberate violations, the punishment is imprisonment in a penitentiary for up to five years.

§5

For the implementation of this regulation, the Minister of the Interior waives the necessary legal and administrative provisions.

§6

This regulation is valid in the state of Austria and in the Sudeten-German districts.

Berlin, 11 November 1938

Minister of the Interior

Frick

"The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subject races to possess arms. History shows that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by so doing. Indeed, I would go so far as to say that the supply of arms to the underdogs is a sine qua non for the overthrow of any sovereignty. So let's not have any native militia or native police. German troops alone will bear the sole responsibility for the maintenance of law and order throughout the occupied Russian territories, and a system of military strong-points must be evolved to cover the entire occupied country." --Adolf Hitler, dinner talk on April 11, 1942, quoted in Hitler's Table Talk 1941-44: His Private Conversations, Second Edition (1973), Pg. 425-426. Translated by Norman Cameron and R. H. Stevens. Introduced and with a new preface by H. R. Trevor-Roper. The original German papers were known as Bormann-Vermerke.

We need more tougher gun laws. Virginia law that says even if you have a valid carry permit, you can't bring a gun on campus. Obviously, this law was not strong enough to stop young Mr. Cho... We must have a tougher law that the criminals will resepect!

This stupid law might have prevented some honest students from returning fire. Pretty much gave Cho free will to shoot anybody without the threat of return fire from anybody but the police.

Another case of "Where guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns".

An armed society is a polite society.
