Bubba won't be riding for a while...

I'm feeling kinda bad this morning...

I had to take Bubba (my black lab and riding buddy) to the SPCA this morning to get the "Bob Barker Treatment" (neutered) and to get all of his shots and vaccinations. I had to drop him off this morning at 8:30 and pick him up later this afternoon. I hope he's doing OK. I felt bad having to leave him there and driving the rest of the way into work with his collar, leash and blanket sitting on the seat of the truck.

Needless to say Bubba probably won't be feeling up to riding in the sidecar for a week or so, but hopefully he'll be back to his ol' happy self in a few days. :thumbsup!:

He'll be fine. But don't be surprised if he barks in a higher pitch after this.

I thought I was the only person to have a black Lab named Bubba?!

Here's my Buddy. He's over ten years old now.

2 sidecar black labs named "Bubba" in the South? As Kermi sez: Who woulda thunked it? :thumbsup!:

Yeah......

Around here in whitetrashville it seems like every other truck, boy and dog is named "Bubba".

The rest of 'em are all named "Earl".

I saw locally there is a large business called "Earl Industries". I think that's where they make 'em.

He was already named when we got him at 6 weeks old. He even answered to it, so we didn't try to change it. But he also likes being called Boo-boo, Bubbaganoosh and Bubbles. He's a flexible old dog that way. He loves cats and people. (We have a big old 14 year old cat he adores.) Hates mice, rats and bunnies. And he likes scattering pigeons just to watch them fly away. His version of fireworks I believe. He'll actually gallop up on a flock in the backyard, bark at them and then sit down to watch them scatter and fly off. It's a game for him. He exudes sweetness. Just look at that picture for proof! He's my shop buddy.

Well I picked up Bubba from the SPCA this afternoon, he was still groggy from the anesthesia and the pain meds. Had to lift a 75 lb. dog up into the truck! My eyes looked like this:

About 7:00 tonight hw was up and moving a bit and had a little bit to eat. I think the pain meds are wearing off as he's a little whiney now.

Hopefully in a few days, he'll be back in full swing. We'll hafta plan a good day of riding for next weekend.

Yup, mine answers to Bubba, Bubs, Mr. Bubble, Bubbarooski, The Bubba-nator, and Bubbers. When he's sitting right next to me, I just call him "Sir", I dunno why.

Makes a great shop dog. He just sits out there with me and keeps me company when I'm working out in the garage. :thumbsup!:

He seemed fine this morning, albeit a tad calmer. He still tries to stop me from putting on my socks and boots every morning. He figures I can't go to work (and leave him) without my shoes.

Ain't that a sorta 'unchristian' thing to do... I mean... he's SUPPOSED to be able to have a bit of fun and all that, John, you know....

:P

Poor Bubba.....

Has Bubba forgiven you yet? :P

Yup! He is the most loveable dopy lug of a dog I have ever met. The next day, ya wouldn't know he had the surgery, he was back to his old goofy self. A few short rides in the sidecar over the weekend, and all is forgiven!

Actually, not to gross ya out, and not that I look down there often, but when the dog rides in the sidecar, let's just say that he doesn't need any Viagra... Took him for a ride yesterday, the neutering didn't change that. I guess he just gets really "excited" to go for a ride in the tub!

John I thought you sort of went by that saying do unto others as you would have them do unto you???Besides male dogs don't bring their troubles home like females do.

CATFISH

Given the penchant of this dog to either run in to me head first (his head is pretty much at crotch level) when I arrive home or when he tries to jump on me and nails me in the groin with his front paws, I'd say we're pretty much even!

Yeah, when I was at the SPCA last week, I saw a few folks dropping off boxes of "their female animal's troubles" for adoption. Many years ago, I did some maintenance on a fire alarm system at a local county animal shelter. The number of animals thay have to euthanise because they were unwanted is very sad. Hence, all the dogs I have have received the "Bob Barker treatment".

Think of it as a circumcision....
