Mike Goldthorpe
First commute to work of the year saw me being passed by a Vincent twin....more accurately, an HRD from 1947. Then today I met a bloke. He went by on his Golden Flash BSA, the returned on his Thunderbolt he's owned since 1972. I later went out on the R50 and stopped by his place as I saw a mate (who knows the BSAs owner - in fact, they both also have BSA Slopers which the former gave spares to get the latter running) having a chat while out on his old Jawa.Small suburb, so many bikes of interest! Just with I had had a camera when I went for my hernia surgery....there was a BMW R12 going the other way. An R12! Just how many of them go by you on the road? Probably as many as '47 HRDs pass you on your commute....Rambling, I know....just so happy there's this wealth of old bikes around me!
