gspell68
I know where your coming from though. I've kind of built up my own personal religion over the years. I suspect every thinking man does. I can't go with any of the standard religions exept may'be Budhism and some shinto and I can believe 'all this' is an accident with no meaning. This can make for some interesting discussions, especially when you combine Shinto and machinery.......or perhaps more appropriately....computers.I think I found where your trouble is. I believe the original of your tag line is, "God hides in the details."
Martyn
hello all, went down resolven market, near neath.i saw this silly hat on one of the car boot stalls,it looked like a victorian gentleman's smoking hat without the tassle,it is highly patterned with little mirrors all over it.anyway,my son works for a pakistani owned furnature shop.i use my hat when i'm cycling down to/and in the gym-i get a lot of wierd looks.i went to see my son,in work, and one of the pakistanis asked me if i was a muslim teacher with my beard as well,i guess i can see his mistake.my son was in tears, laughing!'no', i said i told him where i bought it,then he asked me if i believed in god,if so what religion i am.'well' i said,i'm not catholic, because in my opinion,it is one of the most flawed and corrupt religions ever invented.i'm not protestant, and i don't go to church-unless you count the local pub.so i guess i must be a pagan, with a mixture of buddhism and shintoism thrown into the mix! that was it,both my son and the pakistani, broke down in tears of laughter.'sorry i asked' said the pakistani. Hiya Martyn, I guess your son is used to your eccentricities and is probably just waiting to see what you will do next.... You do know if the hat had a tassle no one would bat an eyelid.......... CheersHI Neil,i was walking past the local army/navy stores wearing my hat, when the owner came out and said he had something for me,he brought out a cracking green one, same as my other one but brand new.he said that he wears bandanas, and any way his wife don't like 'em.the next day,i went to see my son in work, then a pakistani came out and said he had something for me-it was yet another hat,but this one was exquisite, hand made, multiple colours, and the little mirrors all over it.but the front was shaped like a pair of curtains so my forehead was visible.amazing, just 'cause i wore a £1 hat from the market! What a hella wild adventure that was!I like wearing it, I'm not a hat guy but it gets some interesting stares/glares from people.

Serious Black
We're continually arguing with the school here. My wife is a Humanist and I'm still trying to figure out why almost all the human race that has ever existed beleived in some form of god. Haven't seen any definite, repeatable evidence yet. Some non-repeatable strangeness doesn't count. 'What's a humanist Pappa'? 'Somebody who beleives in people rather than a god son'.

Wirecutter
Agnostic. Yeah, I'm sorta like that. Maybe more of a "Lapsed Agnostic." Special Ed
A Christian perspective:I am a Christian. I believe that God created the heavens and the earth. I believe in His Son, who died to pay the price of my sin. Because of my belief, I am often ridiculed and scorned. I am hated for what I believe, not for what I have done. This is very popular now a days. I chose to care for others weaker than myself, even when no one is looking. If someone does not agree with me I neither hate them nor do I belittle Them. I respect their right to believe as their conscience dictates even when I believe different. I desire good for my fellow man. I do not trust without cause. I am never ashamed of God, however I am often ashamed of my fellow man. In America today we butcher our unborn children and call it good. We take another's hard earned money in taxes and then waste it. We make excuses for enslaving our children and grandchildren with a horrendous debt we can not pay. And yet I believe that God will forgive us, if we repent (turn away) from our folly and accept His love. Because I believe this, I am hated even above those who have butchered our families with bombs and hijacked airplanes. I have served honorably in both the US Navy and Marine Corps. I gave an oath to serve others rather than myself. And yet, some think me foolish for my efforts. But this is OK by me. Because when all is said and done, I will have lived with integrity. Would that everyone here could say the same. Care more for others,Less for yourself, and honor God in all things.
