Martyn
hello all, went down resolven market, near neath.i saw this silly hat on one of the car boot stalls,it looked like a victorian gentleman's smoking hat without the tassle,it is highly patterned with little mirrors all over it.anyway,my son works for a pakistani owned furnature shop.i use my hat when i'm cycling down to/and in the gym-i get a lot of wierd looks.i went to see my son,in work, and one of the pakistanis asked me if i was a muslim teacher with my beard as well,i guess i can see his mistake.my son was in tears, laughing!'no', i said i told him where i bought it,then he asked me if i believed in god,if so what religion i am.'well' i said,i'm not catholic, because in my opinion,it is one of the most flawed and corrupt religions ever invented.i'm not protestant, and i don't go to church-unless you count the local pub.so i guess i must be a pagan, with a mixture of buddhism and shintoism thrown into the mix! that was it,both my son and the pakistani, broke down in tears of laughter.'sorry i asked' said the pakistani. :thumbsup!:
Serious Black
I know where your coming from though. I've kind of built up my own personal religion over the years. I suspect every thinking man does. I can't go with any of the standard religions exept may'be Budhism and some shinto and I can believe 'all this' is an accident with no meaning. This can make for some interesting discussions, especially when you combine Shinto and machinery.......or perhaps more appropriately....computers. P.S. How's your ghost? How's your ghost?hello Serious Black, even stones are alive(at the molecular level).i believe all things,at the begining was just pure luck,if certain elements were not present,we would not have not been in existence at all.as for the ghost in the house,he seems to have quietened down a bit, perhaps he's got the spiritual version of the flu.there are a few groany noises, but i think it's the house complaining about the weather.hope all's well with with you and your family.ride safe and free.martyn, meacham :thumbsup!:

neil
Eveyone must believe in something, I believe I'll have another beer! :thumbsup!: Dave Dave I would believe anything you say just down to your car collection, that must be an act of passion and rust preventative.Got any pics of them to share? In 2005 Me an the misses flew back to the Uk (liverpool) to look at 2, a Squadron blue Daimler XJ-C V12 and a Maroon Jaguar. The maroon car was sold that morning to a Belgian couple. The seller of the squadron blue car had sent me current pics so I thought I couldnt lose either wayHe even picked up up from the airport in his SD1 Vitesse. Unfortunately the car turned out to be a tea bag, full of rust and there was no way it would make it to the end of the street let alone back to Holland. Took a train to London and bought a very nice 77 Daimler Sov in Gleaming black, that resided 1 street away when I was a kid in Birmingham. Guess that makes us just as mad as Martyn, the madhatter...... Cheers,
Bilge Keel Dave
Yeah, I'm an old car nut. Currently the TD is in primer, after a frame up restoration. The Jaguar was in a fender bender and I gave it priority over the TD, 'cause it was less work to get back on the road than the TD restoration. I'm currently hanging trim and bumpers on the Jaguar after it's repairs. I'll round up some pictures. Cars don't rust around here, they don't salt the roads in the winter. I see a lot of real nice unrestored old cars on the road all the time. Dave

Jeeze, this topic has gone way off course! Hats, religion, cars, beer, All good! Regarding beer choices, I'm a home brewer. Currently, I have India Pale Ale and a German Kolsch on tap. I also make fruit beers (Blueberry and Cherry) and a Russian Imperial Stout that is a meal in a glass! Cheers, Dave
Serious Black
Beer, Mmmmm. There is good evidence to link it's invention with some early religions and the rise of civilization. Isn't that strange. Mine's an IPA thanks, the Box heads can't do beer. The Russki Stout sounds interesting. I like stout, used to drink Gillespie's bfore moving hear. In fact some of my mates used to call me Billy Gillespie's. Incredably smelly farts though! :thumbsup!:

Incredably smelly farts though! hello Serious, there was a programme on telly a while back,it was about a find in one of the tombs in egypt[i think],it was an old drinking vessel, the scientists and archiologists worked together-with a well known british brewery-i forget which one-the scientists did their tests and found the ingredients of the brew still attached to the inside of the vessel, then the brew master copied the ingredients and fermented, and bottled the result.when they tasted it,it tasted terrible.you had to be drunk to drink it!ride safe and free.martyn, aberdare.
