  1. Hide the kid, hide the wife! Here comes the Fall Annural Rebellious Tour! When: Second week of October (same as it ever was). October 10, 11, 12, 2014 Where: Asheville, NC. Well actually, Swannanoa (just east of Asheville) at the KOA campground. 2708 U.S. 70, Swannanoa, NC 28778 (828) 686-3121. Say the words, "I'm with the Russian Motorcycle Rally" and you will receive a 10% discount. Link to KOA I've rented sites K-21 and 3 & 4 as Rally Central. For maximum fun and frolic, please rent the cabins and spaces adjoining as you can see in the map below. What will happen: Friday Night: Dinner out will be at the Historic Monte Vista Hotel in Black Mountain. The owner is very laid back - don't be intimidated by the website. We'll be dining in our own space while the Russian biker documentary "Normalno" plays in the background. Teaser: Russian Iron member Harleych has a starring role and sent me a copy packed in a headlight many, many years ago. Saturday: Lots of interesting things to see and do in the area. For those who choose not to strike out on their own, I will be leading a group ride along some scenic back roads to Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack for lunch. For the survivors, I'll provide the traditional soup-pot supper on Saturday night. Prizes? Yep. Beer? Of course. Vodka? You betcha. Sunday: Pack up. Tearful goodbyes. For the willing and able, we'll take a little ride the back way to Weaverville with a stop at the Folk Art Center for those who are interested (if you have a wife with you, you will pretend to be interested). Hey! A big thank you to the irrepressible Rich Maund for hosting FART and keeping the dream alive while I was trapped near the inner circle of thought. A big shout out to the immortal Steve Jackson for starting this rally back when Urals had only 650 engines and dinosaurs roamed the earth. We stand on the shoulders of giants... Hope to see you all there!
