  1. Just missed whacking a ground hog with my SUV the other day in White Bear Lake MN. Nice fat one, too. Bob in Minnesota 2006 GearUP
  2. That's exactly what I did when my vehicle inventory exceeded my garage and driveway space. Luckily, the storage unit was only 2 blocks from home so it worked out just fine. How about a friend/acquaintance that has a garage that you could use for an occasional hour or two? Give him/her a bottle of wine for letting you use it.
  3. Your information is correct. It is on page 10, left side, opposite the table of contents. I'd scan it but that would probably be some kind of copywrite violation or something.
  4. Leave them at home. I've never understood why some people have to drag a dog along to public gatherings. Besides the mess they leave, I don't like dodging around leashed or unleashed animals. They may be your little "baby" but they ain't mine. And, if your dog nips me, you are in for a long nasty legal battle. Flame away!!! :unsure2: Bob Seems like you may have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed or something. Or maybe you just spent too many years dealing with people on the road. I spent 25 years in the MSP and have found that animals are much easier to deal with. But anyway, thanks for the advice. Yeah, you are probably right on both counts. Cabin fever up here in the sorta frozen Northland. We took the GearUP over to St Anthony Lock and Dam in downtown Minneapolis yesterday. Lots of walkers, along with their "mans best friend" in tow. Leaving both liquid and solid deposits. Not a pooper scooper in sight. Geez, I need to go for a long ride in the country.

  6. Are the shift kits still available from Raceway? Email Jim Petitti at: racewayservices@cs.com and he will tell you ALL about it.
  7. A guy over on the IMZ board did this. Here's the link: http://imzwa.secureforum.com/read?328102,1329
  8. I've had the tank shifter installed for a year now. Itis on the right and is linked to the foot shift rocker lever on the left side. Thus, you can either shift by hand or by your left foot. There is a separate shift lever for reverse/neutral. The kit is top notch in quality and pretty easy to install. Mine cost $350 for forward gears/reverse-neutral setup. Email Jim at RACEWAY ENGINEERING and he will tell you all about the various options he has available.
  9. Found the thread and quite easy too. Yahoo must have done some work to their search function as it now returns useable results. http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/thecha...e/message/20997 Well, I don't really care. My 06 GearUP has the tube installed in the hack. I have it plugged with a bottle cap from a wax bottle. I'm a bit too old to play soldier. I did more than my share of time in the military back in the 60's.
  10. From what I read on a CJ site, the U.S. BATF stepped in and required a special license to permit Gear-Up sales with the machine gun mount. Special licenses for machine guns I understand, but special licenses for the mounts sounds like a public servant (an oxymoron) with too much time on his/her hands. [/quote] What? I'd like to see a reference on this. Your dealer can still order the MG mount and install it for you. It's probably more of a cost cutting move or a move toward a more "non military" look. 11. Ohm's Law power(watts) equals E(voltage) times I(amps) P=EI
  12. I've got the same Cobra sitting here uninstalled as yet. How did you mount the mic clip to the handlebars?
  13. VERY nice setup. Fits the theme of the GearUP very well. 73, de KB0XR Bob in Minnesota USA
  14. These are nice cans but 20L and no bracket... http://www.deutscheoptik.com/catalog/produ...products_id=863 Bob in Frigid Minnesota 2006 GearUP
  15. My dirty forest camo GearUp draws them like flies. Lucky I have a permit to carry to ward them off.
  16. QUOTE: Using a linear will help a lot. Linear amplifiers are ILLEGAL for CB radios in the USA. Get an Amateur Radio License if you want range, power, and flexibility. Also, 10 meters is an Amateur band and requires a license. Marine radios are not authorized for land based vehicles except for a few applications. KB0XR Bob in Minnesota
  17. I had been looking at the GearUP online but no local dealer. I cleverly brought my fiance out on a cold January day to the dealer over in Wisconsin. After 2 test rides about an hour apart, she asked me if I really liked the GearUP I had just ridden in 10F weather with no gloves or hat and a lightweight jacket. I must have been grinning from ear to ear cuz she whipped out her checkbook and bought it for me(us). I think I'll keep her(GearUP and wife now). :thumbsup!:
  18. So far so good for me. What I'd really like is to get rid of the rental unit nextdoor and have an OWNER living there. I've had 3 years of crappy renters in that unit. Mine's paid for and I don't want to move but...
  19. Geez, is there ANYTHING you like about the USA?
  20. Holiday Greetings from Minnesota This has been a big hit with "most" of the neighbors. I own a townhouse and there are a couple of association nazis that just look for rules violations but the management company likes it also.
  21. Elkskin ropers from Aerostich year round. Hippo hands when the mercury drops.
  22. Welcome! Tell us about the picture?
