The clutch plates have bonded together from sitting for 2 years and will need to be replaced. Also included is a collection of parts from several different past Ural owners. These parts cover the range of years from pre-1998.5 to 2007 and later to pre-FI area. Also included is a factory alignment set, one of t
  2. Sitting here this morning barely able to see the neighbor's house across the driveway due to the blowing snow. Thinking about warmer times to come. So get you pencil and calendars out and mark these dates down. June 24, 25 and 26, 2016. We will be basing out of http://nappsmotel.info/. Now for the dirty details, yes I said dirty. Your bike will develop a dusty patina as we will be exploring some back roads through several states. Over the years I have had requests by several people to stop at Grotto in Dickeyville, WI, http://www.dickeyvil...#!about_us/ciaa. So I am thinking this might be ou
  3. I trying to find out some information about an old Ural dealer in Waynesboro,TN for a friend. He thinks the name the shop was Mike's Cycle. It was supposed to be one of the first dealers in the United States. Does this shop still exist? It is not listed as a Ural dealer anymore but we all know we have lost a lot of dealers over the years.
  4. Ok I'm being lazy so here is the link to my ride report on SS. http://www.sovietsteeds.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=34698&p=430556#p430556
  5. We have been doing this since 2003. The spring ride we call the 3x3x3 and we've based out of several locations in that area over the years. The fall gathering we call the ACTUrAL and it has been going on just as long. The fall ride moves location more, as far south as Keokuk, IA and as far west as Atlantic, IA, as well as the 3x3x3 area. Sometime I preplan the routes ad other time it is just of the pants. Last spring we rode to the Mustard Museum on Friday, and on Saturday we wandered over to the river then own to Potosí for lunch. Our riding distance and speed depends on the skill level of
  6. I just called and made Nancy's and my reservation at Knapp's Motel in Fennimore, WI. Marian is very excited that we decided to come back and stay this year. She even hollered at Mike that the Russian motorcycle were coming back. I heard him in the back ground saying GREAT. If you were not with use last year this motel in an older place but the current owners are doing a bang up job of getting it back into shape. They welcomed everyone like a family member last year. So now it is you job to pick up the phone and make your call to the Napp's Motel for the 3x3x3 on June 6th, 7th and 8th, 2014.
  7. The dates have been set for the 3x3x3 and the ACTUrAL for 2014. But the location are not set yet. Just mark your calendars and put in for your vacation days (like I have to do). 3x3x3 will be June 6, 7, and 8 2014. Leaning towards Fennimore, Wisconsin for this ride. ACTUrAL will be Sept 26, 27, and 28 2014 Leaning towards Atlantic, Iowa but have other thoughts to work on here. We look forward to seeing old and new friends in the New Year. Of course any questions can be sent to sidecarring@gmail.com.
  8. Here is what I'm thinking for the rides. On Friday we will ride to Baxter Cycle to look at his collection of bikes. Then circle around Atlantic and go to see The Freedom Rock. At some point on Friday we will be riding on the historic White Pole Road. Then on Saturday we will work our way over to the Loess Hill area. I have been looking at some maps of the area and there is some fun (read curvy) back (most likely gravel) roads in the area. Again if anybody has any other ideas or thoughts please let me know.
  9. Time to give this a bump. It can't come soon enough for me as I'm really needing some vacation time from work.
  10. That should be October 11th, 12th and 13th, 2013. Sorry about that. Any way it is the second weekend in October.
  11. Ok now we have the finial dates set and a place to stay. All we need is for you to show up and join Nancy and I. When: October 15th through October 17th, 2013 Where: We will be staying at the Turkey Creek Lodge and RV Park in Atlantic, Iowa. This is an older motel that is under going an overhaul. Nancy and I stopped and checked it out yesterday. Their phone number is: (712) 254-9192. If you tell them that you are with the October Motorcycle group then she will know that you are with Nancy and I. There is room for trailer parking so you can trailer in and spend several day riding with us. T
